If Smart People Vote Far-Left; Why is the World Void of Socialist Utopias?

Radical left-wing "comedian" Bill Maher recently said that the majority of his fellow countrypersons aren't bright enough to know what's good for them, which he claims is the reason most Americans don't support policies pushed by the Democrat Party.

By that logic, the state of California is filled with some of the brightest minds in the history of the world.

But, despite a Republican-In-Name-Only Governor, Democrats have run California into the ground. Seems the governor, who had no trouble saving humanity from make-believe villains, can't pay the very real bills.

In Mr. Maher's world, results aren't the least bit important.

I suppose Mr. Maher considers brilliant a patriarch who longingly gazes at a homeless family standing around a skid row trash can while thinking to himself, "The decisions I make in running my household will be identical to the decisions made by that grime-covered father at whom I stare."

Why leftists can't accept the fact that communism/socialism has never worked is beyond me. They always contend that communism/socialism will someday exceed our wildest expectations if we just do a little tweaking.

But why tweak a horrific system when a near-perfect system, as proven by the historic prosperity of the United States, is already in place?

Mr. Maher, would it be brilliant to work on your finely tuned Mercedes-Benz until it drove like one of those Toyotas that randomly accelerates at inopportune times?

To Mr. Maher, brilliance is giving control to individuals whose only objective is increasing the amount of power they wield. He wants the country run by modern day versions of Jim Jones, Charles Manson and David Koresh; all of whose followers Mr. Maher must consider to have been highly intelligent. "Drinking that cyanide laced Flavor-Aide was a brilliant move by residents of Jonestown," we're likely to hear in a future episode of Real Time with Bill Maher.

If Mr. Maher had a kid, I'm sure he'd tell him or her to submit without question to any stranger who asked the little tyke to fully submit to the supposed do-gooders every whim.

And I must mention that, throughout history, many individuals, subjected to tyrannical rule, wound up dead as a result of actions taken by their leaders.

Because healthcare rationing is an enormous part of the Democrats healthcare reform plan, it is crystal clear that policies proposed by Obama and his ilk will cause the death of Americans who otherwise would have had a chance at survival.

So, according to Mr. Maher, if you don't support policies that could directly lead to your death you're severely lacking in intelligence.

If someone proposed a piece of legislation that mandated anyone with the name Bill Maher must cease to exist by force of government, I sincerely hope the political commentator would be smart enough to support it. After all, he considers us short on smarts for not backing policies that could move up our appointment with the undertaker.
